8.56am Thursday 12th November 4.40pm Saturday 14th November 55 hours and 44 minutes That was Evie's time It's hard to write a tribute to a life when that life is made up of days and not years. No time to fill with stories which we fondly recall or tales of enduring love that warm our hearts and lift our spirits. She arrived too soon and left us just as quickly. But the important things is she arrived. We were given such a beautiful daughter and Jacob got his much talked about little sister. Even though Evie was only 24 weeks, she was perfect in every way. We are so grateful and happy that we got to spend even the briefest of moments with her, moments that will stay with us for the rest if our lives and makes us better because of them. I kept thinking to myself you can't call it much of a life - 55 hours and 44 minutes - but maybe if a person's life can be measured by the people they have touched and the amount they are loved, then Evie lived as full a life in those few hours as any of us she left behind. Someone more eloquent than I once said that event the smallest feet have the power to leave everlasting footprints upon this earth and Evie has left such deep footprints. As a proud father, I hoped one day that I would walk her into this church and in front of her friends and family give her away to someone that would love her and keep her safe... I pray that today is no different. (Andrew's tribute to Evie at her funeral.)
